Note: This setup guide is for the Greenhouse Dandelion that does not use a physical access gateway (AGW). If you are looking for the setup guide for the original Dandelion, please visit Dandelion Setup Guide.
Set up your Dandelion Flower
Some assembly required. Tools NOT included.
1. Access Botanist
Scan the QR code on your device to access the Botanist, which will help you during your setup process and allow you to claim your NFT.
Note: If the QR code does not scan to the Botanist, please submit a ticket to support.pollenmobile.io that includes your device Serial Number in order to receive your Botanist URL. You have a unit that was etched prior to the rollout of the Botanist :)
Pick a location for your Greenhouse Dandelion. Dandelions are Baicells NOVA 227s outdoor small cell antennas. They are best placed with a clear line of sight to the sky, with minimal obstructions in the form of foliage, buildings, or other materials such as mesh or metal that could interfere with the signal.
3. Setup your Dandelion
3.1. Connect Dandelion to PoE via Ethernet
Loosen the two screws on the latch covering the ethernet port of your Dandelion, then open the latch; connect one end of an included ethernet cable to the port on your Dandelion labeled 'WAN/IPOE+' port -- please be sure to route the ethernet cable through the soft cable pass-through in the ethernet chamber to avoid crushing and damaging the ethernet cable when closing the latch -- then close the latch and tighten the two screws; the other end of the ethernet cable can be connected to the port on the POE injector labeled 'POE'
3.2. Connect Ethernet to PoE
Using the provided ethernet cables, connect the PoE injector to an internet source (either a Router or an ethernet switch).
3.3 Connect PoE to Power
Connect your PoE injector to a power source.
3.4. Wait for Provisioning
Please allow your newly setup Dandelion Flower 2-5 minutes to come fully online and connect to the internet; if your Flower has been setup properly, you should see the 'PWR' and ACT LED indicator lights lit up solid green, and the RUN LED indicator slowly blinking.
3.5 Check in with Botanist
The Botanist is designed to give you visibility into what the Pollen Mobile system sees for your Flower's setup. Learn more about Botanist here.
Botanist will check for the following things:
- GPS Live
Your Flower's location has been found. If your GPS has not been found, please move your Flower to a different location with a clear line of sight to the sky, unobstructed by foliage, buildings, etc.
- IEPS Online
Your network is secure. Internet Egress Privacy Service (IEPS) is a Pollen service that encrypts communications and moves the Internet Egress Point from your ISP, preventing any actor from intercepting data or running network data analyses. If IEPS is not online, please submit a support ticket to support.pollenmobile.io.
- Connected to Pollen
Your Flower is connected to the Pollen Mobile network. If not, please submit a support ticket to support.pollenmobile.io.
Your Flower is broadcasting the Pollen Mobile network. If not broadcasting, please check your internet backhaul, check the health of your ethernet cables, or power cycle your device.
- SAS Status
In order for your Flower to broadcast, it will need a grant from the SAS. SAS Status refers to the status of your antennas' grant with the SAS. There areseveral statusesthat your grant can have, from Pending to Authorized. Go to"How do I register my Flower with the SAS?"for more information for completing this critical step. Failure to register with the SAS will result in your Flower being taken offline.
4. Claim your NFT
Click on "Claim NFT" and enter in the wallet address you used when purchasing your hardware.
YOU MUST RECEIVE YOUR NFT TO THE SAME WALLET ADDRESS YOU USED WHEN PURCHASING THE DEVICE. Your NFT will be sent to this address within 48 hours of completing the activation process, and once distributed, the QR code on your hardware will change to route to the NFT on SolScan.
